![]() Dave, after the Birthday Bash Gone Rogue, tells them he is amazingly baffled in their conduct. The chipmunks are Alvin (the instigator), Simon (the glasses-wearing geek), and Theodore (the roly-poly follow along), voiced by Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney, separately. "I have a horse shelter, we should do a show!"), or of those old comedies where the powers of disorder beat down grandiose drawing room parties, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip" grasps pandemonium. Reminiscent of The Muppets street trip in "The Muppet Movie," or of the musicals of Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney (i.e. ![]() While there's a ton that is horrible (actually: flatulate jokes, crap jokes, groin hits, burps, pee, and so forth.), the general purpose of the film (and it's awesome that it has a point by any means, considering the material) is that it is a progression of arbitrary occasions where the chipmunks either actuate a mob or quiet one down with their music. Obviously it's senseless: a chipmunk is clinging to the edge of a skateboard as another chipmunk knocks and crushes on grass furniture beneath. After that, the plot squeaks into apparatus, yet the opening party speaks to what is best about the motion picture: it's immaculate pandemonium and it's totally senseless. ![]() Dave at last returns home (he saw news of his gathering drifting on Twitter), tosses everybody out and gives the chipmunks a decent chastening. The greater part of this happens before Dave even arrives. A half-pipe is raised in the patio and skateboarders tilt through the air. In the opening scene of "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip," Alvin, Theodore, and Simon, the three chipmunks, set up an astonishment birthday party for their father/lawful watchman Dave (Jason Lee).
